Friends of Astronomy Club of East Macedonia
History & events
Sfam was founded in 2010 and is situated in Kavala. The association’s purpose is the promotion of Amateur Astronomy not only in Eastern Macedonia but also wherever in Greece there are people are interested about it.
For this purpose, we organize lectures and seminars on the observation of the sky and observational equipment, night trips for starwatching, astrophotography exhibitions and a multitude of events in the light of our passion for astronomy and outer space!
In order to do that we also collaborate with organizations such as the Municipality of Kavala, Xanthi and Kavala Chamber of Industry.
Greece is the country that gave birth to astronomy, the only science that affects all other areas (mathematics, biology, even sociology) but also the arts and feelings. It is a greatpleasure for us, we are able to continue and promote this science to people of all ages.
